Jamerson Family YMCA Whirlpool Guidelines
~The minimum usage age is 16 years old without adult supervision. 12 to 15 years of age can use the whirlpool but under strict adult supervision. Children 11 years and younger are not permitted to use the whirlpool.
~Proper swimsuit attire is required, cut- offs or t- shirts are not permitted in the whirlpool.
~Please shower prior to enter the whirlpool.
~Shampoo, body oils, lotions or shaving is not permitted in the whirlpool.
~Allow yourself at least 5 minutes after exercising to cool down before entering the whirlpool.
~Food or drink other than water is not permitted. Do not use the whirlpool if intoxicated.
~Maximum allowed capacity is 13 patrons.
~Use of cell phone or any other portable electronic device is prohibited.
~Exercising in the whirlpool is prohibited.
~Any participant having a skin disease, nasal or ear discharge, communicable diseases, or who is wearing any kind of bandage will not be permitted in the whirlpool.
~Member exhibiting inappropriate behavior will be asked to leave the facility and may be subject to membership termination.
Downtown YMCA Whirlpool Guidelines
~Since the whirlpools are located in the men and women's lockeroom, you must be 18 years or older to use the whirlpools at the Downtown YMCA.
~Proper swimsuit attire is required, cut- offs, towels, or t- shirts are not permitted in the whirlpool.
~Please shower prior to enter the whirlpool.
~Shampoo, body oils, lotions or shaving is not permitted in the whirlpool.
~Allow yourself at least 5 minutes after exercising to cool down before entering the whirlpool.
~Food or drink other than water is not permitted. Do not use the whirlpool if intoxicated.

Warning
~Whirlpool temperature is 102 - 104 degrees. Due to the high temperatures in the whirlpool you could be exposed to an increased health risk. Please use caution when entering and exiting the whirlpool. Those that are pregnant, taking prescription medicine, elevated or low blood pressure, heart disease, or epileptic seizures should refrain from use unless authorized by a physician.
~Staying in the whirlpool longer then 15 minutes can be dangerous. Lengthy exposure to such high water temperature may cause the body to begin the dehydration process resulting in nausea, or lead to passing out from heat exhaustion.
~YMCA aquatic staff may ask to receive a physician’s note before allowing access to the Whirlpool.
~5 to 10 minute limit in the whirlpool is recommended.
Remember whirlpools are not a treatment of cure, but as an aid to better body function
