~Steam baths are great for prevention and/or relief from muscle fatigue. Following a steam bath, it is a good idea to take a cool/cold shower to close the skin’s pores and avoid colds, particularly in the winter months.

 ~The average individual should remain in the room between 4-8 minutes. This is enough time for to allow the body to break into a full sweat. Following a workout, when the body is worked up, 4-5 minutes is sufficient, however 6-8 minutes may be needed to gain a full sweat in the body is cold. Do not expect to lose true body weight/fat by using the steam baths.

 ~Steam room temperatures range between 115- 125 degrees, with 100% humidity.

 Warning

 ~A Steam bath longer the 10 minutes can be very dangerous. Long exposure to steam and heat may cause the body to begin dehydration process or can result in nausea, or passing out from heat exhaustion.

 ~Individuals with cardiac or respiratory conditions should consult their physician before using the steam room.

 ~Pregnant members are advised not to use the steam room.

 ~Never exercise while in the steam room.

 ~Remember steam rooms are not a treatment of cure, but as an aid to better body function.

 ~Shaving in the steam room is not allowed.

 ~Member exhibiting inappropriate behavior will be asked to leave the facility and may be subject to membership termination.
